Friday, April 1 – Isaiah 41:10
“Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, I will also help you,
I will also uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
It is crazy how much a coach can change a team. A team can have a lot of talent but without a good coach, they will fail if they don’t know how to work together or use their skills properly. On a much greater scale, being led by God changes everything about our lives. It changes us from being alone to having a great Helper. It changes us from being weak to having strength from God. It changes us from being fearful of failure to being confident in where God is leading. These are some of the things many of us hold dear when we first come to faith, but over time it is easy to forget how following Jesus and having His Spirit inside us changes the way we live. We often walk around just as defeated as those around us who do not know Jesus. We feel just as lonely as we ever have. We feel completely helpless in the face of adversity.
But knowing God should change how we endure the peaks and valleys of our life. We gain unchanging joy, peace, and confidence in God when we remember who He is. Whether it has been a long time since you felt this confidence in God or this verse simply serves as a gentle reminder, you can continue deeper into knowing Him and learning about His faithfulness by reading His Word and spending time with Him in prayer. Our remembrance of God feeds our reliance on Him. And when we rely on Him our confidence grows because every part of life changes from being about our power to being about the power He displays through us.
- How can you remind yourself of who God is this week?
- How does knowing who God is change what you are going through right now?
- Pray and ask God to remind you of who He is and how that changes the way you live.
