Friday, April 8 – John 14:23
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will follow My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our dwelling with him.”
Most of us have certain voices of influence that hold power in our lives and can change our minds or make us reconsider our actions. If we aren’t careful, we miss the voice of God in the Bible and instead see His Word merely as a list of rules. As followers of Jesus, time in the Word is essential because it reminds us of who He is and the walk of faith He has for us. It leads us to rely on His work in us instead of our own.
The voices you given influence in your life carry so much weight because of the time you’ve spent with those people. They know where you are, where you have been, and where you want to go. But unlike people, the Word of God is perfect. God knows us better than anyone. He truly knows what is best for us and what He has designed us for. The question is, will we trust Him? Will we believe His truth and seek truth in His Word? God has not left us alone. He has given us both His presence through His Spirit and direction through His Word. He wants to dwell with us and display His power in our lives as we follow Him each day. But do we trust Him? Will we listen?
