Friday, November 3 – Joshua 10:14

Nov 2, 2023

There was no day like that before it or after it, when the Lord listened to the voice of a man; for the Lord fought for Israel.

There are some events we deem a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We do this to communicate how special the event is—too valuable and rare to pass up. This moment of seeing God work was even more precious and rare than most of these types of opportunities. It was a new work that would never be replicated. Our God is constant in His presence and His character, but He is also always doing new and amazing work. Isaiah 43:19, “Behold, I am going to do something new, now it will spring up; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.” Like a master artist, God does not replicate the exact same painting; He will create a new one, but He will do it with the same craft and skill that He has always done.

Have you ever wondered why God is doing something in someone else’s life that you would like Him to do in yours? You can be encouraged today. God is still in the business of doing amazing and unique works. He is ready to work in your life when you surrender to Him. Lamentations 3:22-23 says, “The Lord’s acts of mercy indeed do not end, for His compassions do not fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” We can trust God to be faithful to who He is and work in a new ways in our lives and the world. Get ready!

  • How have you seen God at work in a unique way in your life?
  • Who are some people you feel tempted to compare yourself to? What would it look like to trust the new work God is doing in your life?
  • Pray and ask God to help you trust Him to do a new work in your life.
