Thursday, September 29 – Psalm 86:9

Sep 28, 2022

All nations whom You have made will come and worship before You, Lord,

And they will glorify Your name.

Concerts are special for many reasons but one of the main reasons is being able to experience the fullness of the artist’s music in person. There is something special about hearing a song performed live as opposed to a recorded version. Even with the greatest recording equipment, hearing live music is an experience we can’t quite replicate. Each instrument brings an element to the song, creating a depth of sound that makes different noises into music. As followers of Jesus, we have been united together through Christ. This impact spans beyond just our small group, church, or even our country. This is a cross-cultural, multi-lingual, multi-national unity we get to experience. Our differences don’t disappear in Christ, but they are brought together in beautiful harmony.

Have you truly explored the unity you have with believers from different backgrounds than you? Across the world there are millions of differences, but God is not afraid of these differences. He sees the beauty in every nation, every language, and every culture. Our goal should be to reflect the heart of God as we get to know others, seeking to appreciate their differences, and ready to learn from them instead of viewing them as barriers to keep us apart. Seeing our differences through the lens of the gospel is a life-long learning process. Together in Christ we worship, with all the nations, the one true King. And just like a beautiful orchestra, each instrument comes together to create a full and amazing sound of praise.

  • What steps is God calling you to take toward unity with other believers?
  • How will you act and respond to God’s call today?
  • Pray and ask God to give you a heart for unity with others.
