Wednesday, March 22 – Romans 1:20
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
When was a moment you beheld the grandeur of the world and thought to yourself, “How could someone see this and not believe there is a God?” For some this moment of wonder comes when observing a beautiful nature scene, for others, it is seeing a newborn baby. This question comes to mind because we recognize what Paul wrote in this passage: God is evident and present in His creation.
It is not difficult to notice the beauty in creation. The question is, will we give credit to its Creator? Do we look to see God at work in the world around us, whether in the people we interact with or the things we learn about His creation? His signature has been written across it all. His glory is on display every day. Will we let the hard moments in life distract us from the evidence of the divine that surrounds us? Our God is a marvelous creator, and His eternal power and divine nature are on full display for us to see and experience every day.
- When do you struggle to see God at work in the world? What things cause you to be jaded to this reality?
- How can you share in the joy of beholding God’s masterpiece with someone you know?
- Pray and ask God to give you eyes to see and behold His eternal power and divine nature in the world around you.
